Wellbeing

Our Vision

At All Saints Church of England Primary School we strive for all pupils and staff to feel confident, calm and included in our school and local community. We believe that achieving this will enable pupils to grow, blossom and flourish whilst feeling happy and enthusiastic about themselves and their learning.

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment. All children at All Saints are given the opportunity to take part in these sessions as well as targeting specific groups of children. We have worked this year on training up a member of our support staff to continue running Forest School for the foreseeable future.

PSHCE and Relationship Education

PSHCE (Personal Social Health and Citizens Education) is a programme of learning through which pupils acquire knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future. As part of a whole school approach, it develops the qualities and attributes pupils need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society.

At All Saints, we use the PSHE association programme of study alongside the statutory guidance for Relationship Education to plan, deliver and assess the children.

We base our PSHCE curriculum on three core themes:
1. Health and Wellbeing
2. Relationships
3. Living in the Wider World.

As part of our PSHCE curriculum, we teach the children the characteristics of good physical health and mental wellbeing (which is outlines in the RSE and Health Education guidance) and link this to our 5 ways to wellbeing.

Our Relationship Education covers:
1. Families and People who care for me
2. Caring friendships
3. Respectful relationships
4. Online relationships
5. Being Safe

Click here for an overview of the units each class covers throughout the year. PSHCE and Relationship Education is taught both as a discrete subject, as part of collective worship and in a cross curricular way at the teacher’s discretion.
